Supporting Graduate Students' Academic and Professional Success
Schedule a Teaching Observation
Ready to start building your teaching portfolio? Looking for feedback to aid in your professional development? Schedule a teaching observation with TADP!
Why get a teaching observation? You will get feedback that will help you grow as an instructor, by allowing you to understand your teaching strengths and areas of growth. You can save the observation report and add it to your dossier, portfolio, or other job application materials. It is also great for when you are writing a teaching philosophy statement!
Who will be doing the observation? Either the TADP Specialist, Dr. Rachel Falkenstern, or one of the TADP graduate student consultants depending on their availability and areas of expertise (all are listed on our Staff page).
What is the process for a teaching observation? After you fill out the request form below, a member from the TADP team will reach out to you to schedule a time to observe your discussion section, lab, guest lecture, etc. that works for both of us. If you are not currently teaching or leading a section, we can observe a teaching demo (it should be 55 minutes or less). We will meet briefly prior to the observation to discuss the course and anything you are looking for us to pay specific attention to. After the observation, we'll provide you with a data-driven observation report, which includes strengths and areas of growth we observed, and schedule a post-observation meeting with you to discuss it and provide recommendations and support.
How do I sign up for an observation? Fill out the form below and someone will get back to you shortly!
